Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer Range Future, was quoted in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/NEWS\/tabid\/99\/ID\/673755\/Behind-the-Horn-of-Africa-famine.aspx\">Global Times<\/a> about the Horn of Africa famine. Prof. McCann opined on the severity and why its impact was worse than before.<\/p>\n<p>He also spoke about the need for longer term solutions for the famine:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8221;Food is needed, but relief is no solution in the longer term. The question was one of poverty and lack of \u2018entitlements&#8217; to food.
