His articles have appeared in a wide variety of political science journals.<\/p>\n<p>He served as a fellow of the School of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study (2002\u201303) and a member of the National Academy of Sciences&#8217; Committee on the Evaluation of USAID Programs to Support the Development of Democracy (2006\u201307). He is the recipient of a grant from the National Science Foundation to investigate the global impact of colonialism (2007\u201310) and also serves as the president of the American Political Science Association&#8217;s Organized Section on Qualitative and Multi-Method Research (2007\u201309).
