<\/a>Biography<\/h3>\n

Joe Roman is a conservation biologist and researcher at the Gund Institute for Ecological Economics at the University of Vermont. His research focuses on endangered species conservation, invasive species biology, and marine ecology; his research has appeared in Science<\/em>, Proceedings of the National Academy of Science<\/em>, Trends in Ecology and Evolution<\/em>, and many other journals. Joe has received a Hrdy Fellowship at Harvard University, a McCurdy Fellowship at the Duke University Marine Lab, and a Fulbright Fellowship in Brazil.<\/p>\n

Joe is author of Listed: Dispatches from America\u2019s Endangered Species Act,<\/em>\u00a0winner of the 2012 Rachel Carson Environment Book Award. Editor \u2019n\u2019 chef of eattheinvaders.org<\/a>, Joe has written for\u00a0Audubon<\/em>,\u00a0New Scientist<\/em>,\u00a0The New York Times<\/em>,\u00a0Slate<\/em>, and other publications.<\/p>\n

He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2003 in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology and his Master\u2019s degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida.
