Research Associate Marta Marello Wins #Climathon, Trip to Paris

martaMarta Marello, a Research Associate at the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, has been invited to attend Climate-KIC’s #Climathon program in Paris, in conjunction with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) talks in early December. The program is designed for winners of the #Climathon competition, a global 24-hour hackathon-style climate change event organized by Climate-KIC. The Tufts Institute of the Environment hosted the Boston chapter of the program, which featured sea-level rise and flooding as the main theme.

The solution proposed by Marello’s team aims at facilitating evacuation in case of weather-related emergencies. In Paris, Marello with two other teammates will showcase the city solutions to a high-level audience of city, climate, and start-up specialists.
