Technology for Virtual Sessions

  • Step 1: Log in to your Boston University Zoom account.

    You will need your BU username and Kerberos password to make this happen.

  • Step 2: Set up your profile.

    Use your preferred name in the display. Update it with a photo. Remember, you’re in college now: use good judgement when presenting yourself to classmates and potential mentors for the first time. Don’t make people remember you for the wrong reasons.

  • Step 3: Get familiar with the platform.

    Consider downloading the program on your computer. Test out a private location where you can reliably hear and interact with others. We want you to feel comfortable and engaged.

  • Step 4: Get VPN Access

    Do you need a virtual private network (VPN) to gain access to some materials? Follow directions from IS&T.

In setting up your BU Zoom account and participating in Orientation, you are promising to treat others and yourself with respect.
