Technology for Virtual Sessions
Step 1: Log in to your Boston University Zoom account.
You will need your BU username and Kerberos password to make this happen.
Step 2: Set up your profile.
Use your preferred name in the display. Update it with a photo. Remember, you’re in college now: use good judgement when presenting yourself to classmates and potential mentors for the first time. Don’t make people remember you for the wrong reasons.
Step 3: Get familiar with the platform.
Consider downloading the program on your computer. Test out a private location where you can reliably hear and interact with others. We want you to feel comfortable and engaged.
Step 4: Get VPN Access
Do you need a virtual private network (VPN) to gain access to some materials? Follow directions from IS&T.
More support is available at TechWeb.
In setting up your BU Zoom account and participating in Orientation, you are promising to treat others and yourself with respect. In building a sense of belonging among us all, we need to be willing to listen to different perspectives and share our own in a good-faith manner that develops knowledge and creates a common understanding.
