These principles are the underpinning of a successful coaching engagement:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">The client understands the \u2018what\u2019s in it for them\u2019 and is willing to engage in the process.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">The engagement is focused on results with clear and objective goals that align with the goals of the client and their manager.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">The client prioritizes the work resulting from coaching; practicing and reflecting on the committed steps.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">There is ongoing support and feedback on progress from the client\u2019s manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In keeping with these principles, the coaching is primarily non-directive and focuses on guiding clients to find solutions.
