I have many social justice commitments and practices as well, particularly in regards to racial and economic justice and climate change. My dissertation became a book published as part of an international series on lived religion and trauma. I am married to a man of indigenous Texas Cherokee heritage and my family is multiracial, including a goddaughter, god-granddaughter, and delightful new baby god-grandson. My spouse and I also are the proud owners of fur family cats.
