He received his B.E. in Biomedical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, NJ, where he worked on developing a pediatric medical device for monitoring airflow following a tracheostomy. At BU,<span>\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"il\">Omar<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span>is co-advised by Dr. Michael Economo and Dr. Brian DePasquale, and is interested in studying multi-regional neural dynamics during behavior. His goal is to understand how high-level regions in the brain coordinate to modulate low-level motor circuits to produce the appropriate movement patterns.
