He earned his bachelor&#8217;s degree in Bioengineering from Oregon State University and previously conducted natural products chemistry research at the National Cancer Institute. At BU,<span>\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"il\">Grant<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span>is working with Dr. Brian DePasquale, where he is interested in applying sophisticated machine\u00a0learning methods to neuroscience.<span>\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"il\">Grant<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span>primarily works with graph neural networks (GNNs) and is interested in applying them to two research areas: 1) in collaboration with Dr. Meg Younger, using GNNs and\u00a0self-supervised learning to model how odors are processed in the mosquito\u00a0brain and 2) using GNNs to understand collective behavior in schooling fish.
