His research uses a number of optical tools including confocal imaging of fluorescence\u00a0<i>in situ<\/i>\u00a0hybridization, optogenetic stimulation and inhibition, and serial two-photon tomography of axon collaterals to uncover the cell types, projection patterns, and premotor circuits underlying orofacial movements in mice.<\/p>\n<p>He has a BS and MS in Biomedical Engineering from UNC-Chapel Hill and the University of Arizona respectively.
