His interest in neurophotonics began through his undergraduate research with electroencephalography\u00a0(EEG) and functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRs). He became further involved in neurophotonics after learning about the ability to control neurons using optogenetics. In Dr. John White&#8217;s lab, he plans to study the\u00a0biophysical\u00a0properties of grid cells in the medial\u00a0entorhinal cortex.
