He became interested in the brain after attending a seminar presentation on neural regeneration in the stroke brain. Upon arriving at BU, he took neuroengineering classes and became fascinated in how genetically encoded voltage sensors can indicate a neuron&#8217;s electrophysiology. He joined Professor Xue Han&#8217;s lab<\/span><span>\u00a0in the Biomedical Engineering Department, and is interested in improving and applying voltage indicators to better understand brain diseases such as Parkinson&#8217;s.
