Shutao Xu (Sander Lab) is a PhD candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. He became interested in neurophotonics since he joined BU and learned about his labmate’s previous work on neurostimulation. Previously, he received his B.E. in optoelectronics engineering from Nanjing University of Science and Technology. Currently, he is working with Prof. Michelle Sander on the development of ultrafast fiber laser sources that can be used for deep imaging into brains. He expects to graduate in 2024.
