Sullivan, a nationally renowned infectious diseases expert and chief of the Biodefense Research Section at the federal government\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.niaid.nih.gov\/about\/vrc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vaccine Research Center<\/a>, has been named the new director of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/neidl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Boston University\u2019s National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories<\/a> (NEIDL).<\/p>\n<p>A cell biologist and viral immunologist by training, Sullivan succeeds <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/microbiology\/people\/faculty\/ronald-b-corley-phd\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ronald B. Corley<\/a>, a BU School of Medicine professor of microbiology, who has led the lab since 2014.
