His books include <i>Unsuspected Eloquence: A History of the Relations between Poetry and Music<\/i>\u00a0(1981), <a href=\"http:\/\/yalepress.yale.edu\/yupbooks\/reviews.asp?isbn=9780300029949\"><i>John Dryden and his World<\/i><\/a>\u00a0(1987), <i>\u201cWhen Beauty Fires the Blood\u201d: Love and the Arts in the Age of Dryden<\/i>\u00a0(1992), <a href=\"http:\/\/yalepress.yale.edu\/yupbooks\/book.asp?isbn=9780300074123\"><i>The Pale of Words: Reflections on the Humanities and Performance<\/i>\u00a0(1998)<\/a>, and <i>The Poetry of War<\/i> (2008).\u00a0His biography of Queen Anne will be published in 2014 by Oxford University Press. Winn\u2019s scholarly interest in music reflects his continuing career as a concert flutist.
