Dr. Grinstaff is the Inaugural Holder of the Distinguished Professor of Translational Research, and a Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, and Medicine at BU and BUSM. He is highly experienced in the management of interdisciplinary research projects and centers involving multiple collaborators from the areas of science, engineering, and clinical research.\u00a0 Early in his career he was awarded the ACS Nobel Laureate Signature Award, and most recently the Edward M. Kennedy Award for Health Care Innovation. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. He is an author or co-author on more than 350 peer-reviewed manuscripts, given more than 375 oral presentations, and an inventor or co- inventor on more than 200 issued patents or pending applications. He is a co-founder of several companies that are commercializing his ideas, and he has several products being sold and used in the clinic. He is also the co-inventor numerous FDA approved pharmaceutical products and medical devices.<\/p>\n
