Graduate Military Admission Center

Enrolling in one of Boston University’s advanced degree programs is easy. If you’re a member of the military community—including DoD employees and contractors with access to the base—you can use the links below to find everything you need to apply. If you have questions about your eligibility, please contact the field office at the site where you’d like to attend our programs.

Applying to Boston University

Applicants to graduate certificate and degree programs at Boston University military locations must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. No particular undergraduate course of study is required for admission.

To apply, please complete the online application and have copies of all official transcripts sent to the local Boston University field office for processing.

Applications are reviewed by the Metropolitan College Graduate Committee on a continuing basis throughout the year.

The graduate application includes:

  1. Completed application form
  2. Non-refundable $85 application fee for master’s degree programs; $25 application fee for certificate programs*
  3. Three letters of recommendation
  4. A written statement of motivation for graduate study
  5. Official transcripts of all previous undergraduate and graduate work
  6. Résumé (if available)

*Veterans and active-duty military are eligible for a fee waiver. Please email with your request.

Proof of English proficiency is required of all applicants by submitting official results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS). This requirement is waived for applicants whose native language is English, or for applicants who have received, or expect to receive, an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university where the primary language of instruction is English.
