He is an Associate Research Scientist with the University of California, San Francisco, and co-founder of Mycrobial Community Consulting. He is a member of the Mycological Society of America, and Co-Content Editor for the California Lichen Society. He has over two dozen scientific articles. His work has highlighted the importance of fungal microbiomes to plant-fungus interactions, and the use of multi-omics approaches when assessing functional potential in microbial communities.
