Suggested use cases are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New employees who are waiting on their official MET-provided equipment<\/li>\n<li>Departing employees who do work after returning their MET-provided equipment<\/li>\n<li>Travelling employees who require a secure desktop<\/li>\n<li>Employees who are waiting on repairs to their MET-provided equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<dl>\n<dt><strong>Accessing the Virtual Desktop<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>The MET Virtual Desktop (also referred to as MET REMOTE) is accessible through either the <a href=\"https:\/\/omnissa.link\/horizonclient\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Omnissa Horizon Client<\/a> (recommended) or the web client available at <a href=\"https:\/\/metvlab.bu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/metvlab.bu.edu\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While both options will get you up and running quickly, the Omnissa Horizon Client comes with better features to its web counterpart. Some features include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Better stability and performance<\/li>\n<li>Ability to pass your USB devices to the remote desktop (e.g.-headset, camera, speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to share between the remote desktop and your machine&#8217;s local folders<\/li>\n<li>Ability to use multiple monitors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Omnissa Horizon Client can be installed on almost any device, with installers available for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and Chromebooks.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt><strong>Available Software<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>MET REMOTE is currently installed with Windows 11, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Zoom to meet most office work needs.
