Start the Nested VM<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. In the CS694 VLab, open the Hyper-V Manager<\/strong> from the Desktop.<\/li>\n

    \"\"<\/p>\n

  2. In the ‘User Account Control’ enter your BU password<\/strong>.
    \n \"\"<\/p>\n
  3. Right click CS694<\/strong> from the Virtual Machines list, then click Start<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

    \"\"<\/p>\n

  4. Once the VM starts, right click CS694<\/strong> again, then click Connect<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

    \"\"<\/p>\n

  5. Log in to the user metstudent<\/strong> with the password CS694vlab<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

    \"\"\n<\/ol>\n

    Start the AVD from Container<\/h4>\n
      \n
    1. Click on the Android Virtual Device icon in the left bar.<\/li>\n

      \"\"<\/p>\n

      You will receive a notification when the container is ready.
      \n \"\"<\/p>\n

    2. When the container is active, it can be checked from a terminal with the docker ps<\/strong> command.<\/li>\n

      \"\"<\/p>\n

      The Android Virtual Device is also available to the abd<\/strong> command.
      \n \"\"<\/p>\n

      NOTE:<\/strong> If the device appears as \u201coffline\u201d, wait 5 minutes<\/em> for it to startup and try again. Proceed when it is listed as a \u201cdevice\u201d.
      \n \"\"<\/p>\n

    3. Access the android virtual device’s GUI with the command scrcpy -s <name of device> &<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

      \"\"<\/p>\n

      The window that appears is the interface to the active android device in the container.
      \n \"\"<\/p>\n<\/ol>\n

      Ending your Session<\/h4>\n
        \n
      1. Close the AVD GUI window, then stop the container with the docker stop avd-device<\/strong> command.<\/li>\n

      2. Stop the AVD container with the docker stop avd-device<\/strong> command, then power off the Ubuntu VM with the sudo poweroff<\/strong> command.<\/li>\n
