Employees can request loaner devices for the following circumstances:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For a class, meeting, or event<\/li>\n<li>For a device forgotten at home<\/li>\n<li>For business trips<\/li>\n<li>For temporary use during repairs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>MET IT will provide loaner laptops to clients who require repairs on their main laptop.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt><strong>Replacement<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>Employee laptops are replaced every <em>4 years<\/em> (unless otherwise noted).<br \/>Departmental machines and other devices are replaced as needed.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt><strong>Personal Devices<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>MET IT does <em>not<\/em> support personal devices or unauthorized purchases.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt><strong>Security and Disposal<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>All MET-managed systems must meet BU security standards.<br \/>Equipment must be returned on the day it is replaced or retired.<br \/>Users may purchase old laptops at 50% of the current market value.<br \/>MET IT securely removes all data and BU-provided software before sale, reuse or disposal.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MET IT provides major support for all BU-provisioned laptops for faculty and staff.
