{"id":6460,"date":"2024-04-08T11:40:56","date_gmt":"2024-04-08T15:40:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/metit\/?page_id=6460"},"modified":"2024-09-18T14:16:10","modified_gmt":"2024-09-18T18:16:10","slug":"peripherals","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/metit\/services\/hardware\/peripherals\/","title":{"rendered":"Peripherals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MET IT has standard options for a number of common peripherals for our full-time employees.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h4>Support Policy<\/h4>\n<p>MET IT is responsible for the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Setting up office spaces with required peripherals<\/li>\n<li>Providing standard peripherals upon request<\/li>\n<li>Assessing and purchasing special requests<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshooting and replacing faulty peripherals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<dl>\n<dt><strong>Standard Office Peripherals<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>Full-time employees can expect to receive the following for their office:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to two 24&#8243; monitors<\/li>\n<li>Monitor arms to increase desk space<\/li>\n<li>Keyboard and mouse based on platform:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Mac Users:<\/em> Magic Mouse &amp; Keyboard<\/li>\n<li><em>Windows Users:<\/em> Wired Mouse &amp; Keyboard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>A docking station (for laptop users only)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<dt><strong>Additional Standard Peripherals<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>Full-time employees may also request the following items if they are required for their work:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One webcam<\/li>\n<li>One audio device from the following options:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Wired Stereo Headset<\/li>\n<li>Jabra Conference Speaker<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>One handwriting capture device (MET IT consultation required)<\/li>\n<li>Cables and adapters, including:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>USB C Hub<\/li>\n<li>USB A Hub<\/li>\n<li>USB Extender<\/li>\n<li>Ethernet Cable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<dt><strong>Requesting Special Peripherals<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>Employees may request special options if required for their work or as a necessary replacement for one of our standard options.<\/p>\n<p>MET IT will assess these requests on a case-by-case basis.
