Asad Malik (MET\u201921) recognized with the new way of life at home and self-reflecting, one field in particular would be expected to see expansive growth: social media.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/met\/files\/2021\/05\/iphone-11-mockup-sm.png\" alt=\"mockup of app on iPhone screen\" class=\"size-full wp-image-72627 alignright\" width=\"540\" height=\"404\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A graduate of MET\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/met\/degrees-certificates\/ms-computer-science\/\">Master of Science in Computer Science<\/a> program, Malik noted that brands, memes, and influencers reigned supreme established social media platforms, and decided to create something different: a tool that prizes the complexities of an individual\u2019s emotions. He calls it <a href=\"https:\/\/rubiic.com\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rubiic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s kind of a new concept. Think of it as Instagram, but instead of sharing photos, it\u2019s a place where you put your thoughts and feelings,\u201d Malik tells <em>BU Today<\/em>. Users can share things like photography, music, and voice recordings, with each post\u2019s audience at the poster\u2019s discretion.
