His research explores how institutions define social problems and develop policies to address urban inequality. His work focuses on: 1) the socioeconomic effects of affordable housing programs, and 2) barriers to educational attainment for underserved communities. He has designed and built affordable housing with community development corporations; managed housing programs at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development; and analyzed policy and legislation at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He holds a Ph.D. in Urban Policy and Planning from MIT, M.
