As such, we have five overarching strategic priorities:<\/p>\n<h2>Academics\u2014Continued Education for Career Success<\/h2>\n<p>At the core of MET&#8217;s mission is providing high-quality programs that meet the educational needs of a fast-changing economy, delivered in formats that fit working schedules and sustain extended careers. Continued innovation in three strategic directions is critical for achieving this goal: academically rigorous curricula that embed the latest industry tools and techniques, multimodal flexible delivery, and new programming for emerging fields. To support these directions, MET has established effective processes for systematic review and revision of existing curricula, while regularly assessing the competitive landscape to predict where there might be need for new degree or certificate programs.<\/p>\n<h2>Applied Research and Scholarship<\/h2>\n<p>Applied interdisciplinary research and scholarship is essential to developing, maintaining, and delivering high-quality, relevant, and innovative graduate programs of consistently high academic value. As such, supporting and expanding research activities remains a strategic priority at MET, spearheaded by the College\u2019s full-time faculty with the support of graduate student assistants, and reinforced with scholarly work produced by practicing industry experts among MET\u2019s part-time faculty. Research at MET is aligned with its industry-relevant graduate programs and is strategically focused on quantitative and applied areas that provide a solid academic foundation and knowledge, combined with hands-on skills that prepare our graduates for the professional areas of the highest current and future industry demand.<\/p>\n<h2>Student Success<\/h2>\n<p>In an increasingly complex and rapidly changing educational and work environment, supporting students in lifelong learning\u2014and as they forge careers over extended working lives\u2014has become a strategic factor for their success. In recognition of this, MET is currently reenvisaging centralized graduate advising at the program and college levels. The goal is to develop an organizational structure for comprehensive advising and mentoring to help students identify the program option (degree, certificate, or non-degree) that best suits their interests and professional aspirations, then chart their academic and career progression. A unified and coordinated approach to student support, across the areas of academic and non-academic advising, enrollment support, financial assistance, and career development advising, will prepare our students to succeed in the continually changing workplace\u2014and maximize their direct experience at Metropolitan College.  <\/p>\n<h2>Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion<\/h2>\n<p>Advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion is ingrained in MET\u2019s mission and embedded in all facets of our work\u2014teaching, curriculum, student support, faculty and staff hiring, and institutional culture. DEI is a strategic priority and an immediate call for action. And while MET has traditionally been one of the most diverse colleges within BU, there are significant opportunities to broaden and strengthen our efforts and increase our impact through new programs for traditionally underrepresented populations and research to further an equitable society.<\/p>\n<h2>Collaboration With Other BU Colleges and Industry<\/h2>\n<p>The strategic significance of inter-college collaborations is predicated by the interdisciplinary nature of professional work requirements. MET, through its students and its part-time faculty with established professional careers, is well-positioned to highlight and integrate the industry aspect in interdisciplinary research projects and help develop industry partnerships.<\/p>\n<div class=\"readNext\" style=\"padding: 0 15px;
