Many BU MET students pursue a second master\u2019s degree in another academic area after completing their first degree. To see our range of master&#8217;s programs, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/met\/programs\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Degrees &#038; Certificates<\/a> and select program type \u201cGraduate Degrees &#038; Concentrations.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Please note that you can only begin a second master\u2019s degree <strong>after<\/strong> completing your first degree\u2014you may not enroll in two master&#8217;s simultaneously. We encourage students to apply for a second master\u2019s six months prior to the expected graduation date of their first master\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n<p>If you seek to change programs within your current master\u2019s degree, please consult your academic department.<\/p>\n<h2>Second Master&#8217;s Application Process<\/h2>\n<p>Current degree-seeking students and alumni must submit a new application for the second master\u2019s program to be reviewed for admission by the same process as other graduate applicants to BU MET. Admissions will provide an <strong>application fee waiver<\/strong> for second master\u2019s applicants and will also use the transcript and letter of recommendation materials from your first master\u2019s degree application.  <\/p>\n<p>Please email <a href=\"mailto:met@bu.edu\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">met@bu.edu<\/a> with the subject line \u201cSecond Master\u2019s\u201d for specific instructions on how to submit your application as a second master\u2019s applicant.<\/p>\n<h2>Unit Transfer<\/h2>\n<p>After completing a first master\u2019s degree program at BU MET, you may transfer up to 8 eligible units from that degree toward a second master\u2019s program. Only courses that fulfill the requirements of the second degree are eligible for transfer.<\/p>\n<h2>Prospective Students<\/h2>\n<p>Prospective students who have yet to enroll at BU MET must apply to and enroll in one program. After matriculating in one master\u2019s program, you can work with your academic department and the Admissions office to prepare your second master\u2019s application as you near completion of the first degree.
