Child was a frequent visitor to the University\u2019s<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/foodstudies\/programs\/culinary-arts\/professional-culinary-arts-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">culinary arts program<\/a>, where she taught classes alone or with her good friend, Chef Jacques P\u00e9pin, part-time faculty member at Metropolitan College.<\/p>\n<h2>Eligibility Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>The writing award goes to a matriculating student in the <a href=\"\/met\/degrees-certificates\/ma-gastronomy\/\">Master of Arts in Gastronomy<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>who has been nominated by their instructor for outstanding academic work in their program.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First established at Boston University\u2019s Metropolitan College by the Fisheries Foundation, the Julia Child Student Writing Award honors the late Julia Child, world-renowned chef and author who introduced French cuisine to American audiences through her cookbooks and television programs, including The French Chef on PBS.
