In order to graduate, you must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/met\/current-students\/graduation\/apply-to-graduate\/\">Graduation Application<\/a> (no fee involved) <strong>two semesters before<\/strong> you intend to complete your degree requirements, and submit it to MET Enrollment &amp; Student Success.<\/li>\n<li>Successfully complete <em>all academic requirements<\/em>. You will officially graduate only when all degree requirements are met. You may participate (\u201cwalk\u201d) in the May Commencement ceremonies if you plan to complete all academic requirements by August.<\/li>\n<li>Have <em>official transcripts<\/em> of any outstanding coursework from another college delivered to MET Enrollment &amp; Student Success:Boston University Metropolitan College<br \/>\nEnrollment &amp; Student Success<br \/>\n1010 Commonwealth Avenue, First Floor<br \/>\nBoston, MA 02215<br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:metess@bu.edu\">metess@bu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Undergraduate degree candidates<\/strong> should contact Enrollment &amp; Student Success with any general questions about Commencement or academic standing. We can be reached by calling 617-353-2980 or emailing <a href=\"mailto:metess@bu.edu\">metess@bu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Prepare for the Commencement Ceremonies<\/h2>\n<p>When you have received your graduation information, take the following steps to prepare for Commencement ceremonies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Update diploma and graduation information on the <a href=\"https:\/\/student.bu.edu\/MyBU\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MyBU Student Portal<\/a> (be sure to update this information even if you do not plan to attend Commencement ceremonies).<\/li>\n<li>Order your cap and gown. Everyone who participates any in-person Commencement ceremony is required to wear a cap and gown as approved by the University. Academic dress will be available via <a href=\"https:\/\/colleges.herffjones.com\/college\/bu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Herff Jones<\/a> and Boston University Campus Store<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Attend Commencement Ceremonies<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>You may attend the Metropolitan College Convocation Ceremony at the <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.bu.edu\/?id=647#!m\/288410\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Agganis Arena<\/a> (Saturday, May 16, 2026, 1 pm) as well as the University-wide Commencement Ceremony at <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.bu.edu\/?id=647#!m\/290522\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nickerson Field<\/a> (Sunday, May 17, 2026, 1 pm).<\/li>\n<li>All diplomas will be mailed to May graduates beginning in June 2026. Remember to check your final transcript (you may review it in your <a href=\"https:\/\/student.bu.edu\/MyBU\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MyBU Student<\/a> portal) and diploma to verify the correct spelling of your name, proper degree, major, and date.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tickets are not required<\/strong> for the Metropolitan Convocation Ceremony. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, and there will be plenty of seating. Invite as many guests as you\u2019d like. Since there is plenty of seating, guests should not feel that they have to arrive early. There will be signs to direct guests to the proper areas.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tickets are required<\/strong> for the All-University Commencement Ceremony. Each graduate wishing to attend the All-University ceremony will have to register for themselves and will then be allotted up to 4 tickets per graduate for their guests. The graduates will be responsible for \u201cdelivering\u201d these electronic tickets to their guests.
