Thank you for your interest in attending Boston University\u2019s Metropolitan College (MET)! On this page you will find important information about financing your education at BU.<\/p>\n

International graduate students are not eligible for federal financial assistance, but are evaluated for merit scholarships and may consider applying for graduate assistantships or private loans<\/a> after being offered admission.<\/p>\n

Tuition<\/h2>\n

If you are planning to study at BU MET on an F-1 visa, you will need to maintain full-time status (at least 12 units). Please note that if you are studying online you do not need to maintain full-time status. Additional charges apply to all students enrolled in more than 18 units.<\/p>\n

Estimated Cost of Study<\/h2>\n

International students are required by the University to demonstrate that they are able to fund all tuition, fees, books, and living expenses throughout the duration of their studies. To do this, each student or sponsor (person funding the student\u2019s education) must submit financial documentation in the form of an official letter or statement from a bank or financial institution. The document must show the availability of funds to cover the estimated total cost corresponding to the program of study.<\/p>\n

Review the Estimated Cost of Graduate Study<\/a> over a 9-month period (fall and spring) or a 12-month period (fall, spring, and summer).<\/p>\n

Merit Scholarships<\/h2>\n

All master\u2019s degree applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships. The admissions committee will nominate admitted students to receive this award, based on the strength of each applicant\u2019s academic qualifications and professional experiences. Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award with their admissions decision.<\/p>\n

Admitted students who plan to attend full-time on campus can apply for the Bridge to Boston Scholarship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Graduate Assistantships<\/h2>\n

When are tuition payments due?<\/h3>
\r\nPayments must be received by close of business (5 pm EDT) on the day of the deadline to avoid late fees. What MET scholarships are available to international students?<\/h3>
\r\nMerit<\/a> and Bridge to Boston<\/a> are the two types of Metropolitan College scholarships available to full-time master\u2019s degree students.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What are the eligibility criteria to be considered for Merit Scholarship?<\/h3>
\r\nYou must be enrolled in a master\u2019s degree program at BU MET during the academic year (fall and spring) to be eligible for a Merit Scholarship. Non-degree and certificate students are not eligible for scholarships. Scholarships cannot be retroactively applied to courses taken as a non-degree or certificate student.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

How would the scholarships apply to my tuition bill?<\/h3>
\r\nA scholarship would be awarded in equal installments per semester of full-time enrollment during the academic year (fall and spring). Scholarships can only be applied to full-time tuition, required student services fee, and the health and wellness fee. \r\n\r\nYour combined scholarship disbursements may be less than the total scholarship amount referenced in your admissions letter if you take fewer than the standard number of full-time semesters to complete your master\u2019s degree.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

If I defer my enrollment to a later entry term, will my scholarship also be deferred?<\/h3>
