Urban Affairs Standout Joins State's Citizens United Commission

Joyce Sanchez, a MET Master of Urban Affairs student, has been appointed by Attorney General Maura Healey to join a Citizen’s Commission. The 15-person commission, established as a result of Question 2 on the 2018 Massachusetts ballot, is tasked with exploring a constitutional amendment to overturn the US Supreme Court’s controversial Citizens United decision, which many believe reshaped the role of money in politics.

Ms. Sanchez will not only bring with her the lessons she has learned at MET, but also professional experience as a citizen engagement coordinator with American Promise. “In addition to her impressive work in this space,” Attorney General Healey said, “[Ms. Sanchez] will give young people the representation they need on this Commission.”
