Health Communication Collaborates with Mayo Clinic Social Media Network
Health Communication students enrolled in BU’s online graduate course Social Media Strategies and Tactics for Health Communicators (MET HC 763) will now receive a complimentary premium membership to the Mayo Clinic Social Media Network (MCSMN), a collaborative learning community focused on encouraging the safe and effective use of social media tools. Students who successfully complete the Mayo-Hootsuite four-hour training module—a requirement for MET HC 763—will earn the Social Media Basics for Healthcare Certificate from MCSMN, valued at 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ by Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.

May 2018, Boston—The Health Communication program at Boston University’s Metropolitan College (MET) is pleased to announce a collaboration with Mayo Clinic Social Media Network (MCSMN).
Students enrolled in BU’s online graduate course Social Media Strategies and Tactics for Health Communicators (MET HC 763) will now receive a complimentary premium membership to the Mayo Clinic Social Media Network. Students who successfully complete the Mayo-Hootsuite four-hour training module—a requirement for MET HC 763—will earn the Social Media Basics for Healthcare Certificate from MCSMN, valued at 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ by Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
Social Media Strategies and Tactics for Health Communicators is one of the four courses comprising Boston University’s online Graduate Certificate in Visual & Digital Health Communication. This unique course provides communication professionals with insight on how to engage patients, consumers, and other target audiences through compelling storytelling and strategic social media practices. Exploring the extraordinary challenges and opportunities driven by social media, students learn why using it effectively and efficiently has become a necessary skill for those within the highly regulated area of health communication. Worth 4 credits, the course can also be taken as part of BU’s Master of Science in Health Communication program or as a non-degree offering.
Social Media Strategies and Tactics for Health Communicators is next offered online by MET from July 3 to August 20, 2018. Students can register for the course now.
