Launching in time for the fall 2020 semester, the Urban Grape Wine Studies Award for Students of Color is a new opportunity for historically marginalized peoples to get an irreplaceable education in the beverage and hospitality industry.

Founded by BU Certificate Program in Wine Studies alum TJ Douglas and wife Hadley Douglas, owners of Boston’s South End wine retailer The Urban Grape, the award will offer at least one student of color per year the chance to get a BU education in wine as well in conjunction with a series of internship opportunities designed to help break down racial barriers
