Mike Kostyo (MET’12), an alum of the Master of Arts in Gastronomy program who has distinguished himself in a career in food media and trend prognostication, was recently named vice president at Menu Matters, a Vermont-based food industry consulting firm that specializes in culinary strategy. In the role, Kostyo will leverage his passion for and expertise within the field to provide food industry clients with research-driven solutions.

Kostyo previously spent 11 years as a “trendologist” and an associate director at Datassential, an industry research and insights company. After learning to communicate the deeper meaning of what we eat via food studies at BU MET, he has gone on to appear regularly on The A.V. Club and the Food Network’s Eating America, and has also been featured on NBC News, CBS Radio and Gimlet Media’s Why We Eat What We Eat podcast.
