Dean’s Advisory Board Chair Takes Top Position at Scroobious

Entrepreneur and philanthropist Ralph H Groce III (CGS, Questrom, MET), a proud Boston University alum and chair of BU MET’s Dean’s Advisory Board, has been named president and COO of Scroobious. Founded by BU Questrom School of Business alum Allison Byers (Questrom’08), the virtual platform is dedicated to diversifying the startup ecosystem. Groce, who earned his Master of Urban Affairs degree at MET,  was one of the company’s first investors and by taking the reins at Scroobious he will continue his commitment of rectifying inequity through transformative economic opportunity.

“Ralph’s leadership skills and deep expertise in finance and technology, along with the $500,000 in growth funding, will be instrumental in helping us enhance our AI-powered platform, scale our reach, and accelerate our efforts to create a more inclusive startup ecosystem,” stated Byers in a September 3, 2024, press release.

Prior to taking the role at Scroobious, Groce was head of operations technology at Wells Fargo. He is also cofounder and CEO of the Knowhere Art Gallery. Groce’s involvement with MET runs deep. In 2017, he established the Ralph H. Groce, III Scholarship, was the invited speaker at MET’s  2017 Convocation Ceremony, and received that year’s Distinguished Alumni Award for Service to Alma Mater. In 2019, he helped fund the Groce Pépin Culinary Innovation Laboratory at Metropolitan College.
