Academic Conduct Code
All students entering Boston University are expected to maintain high standards of academic honesty and integrity. It is the responsibility of every student to be aware of the Academic Conduct Code’s contents and to abide by its provisions. The Academic Conduct Committee of each BU school or college is composed of students, faculty and staff, and has jurisdiction over all charges of academic misconduct brought against students.
In all charges of academic misconduct against a student, the student is entitled to full procedural fairness in any disciplinary proceedings. The Academic Conduct Code details the guidelines governing disciplinary proceedings. It also articulates the University’s philosophy of discipline, defines violations of the code, and enumerates penalties applicable under the code.

Examinations
Make-up Exams & Late Final Exams
Students are urged to complete all coursework on time. However, when circumstances require a student to take a final examination late, the student should make arrangements through the course instructor.
Waiver Exams
A limited number of waiver examinations are offered in computer science for undergraduate degree candidates with specific knowledge in a particular area.
In addition, Metropolitan College recognizes specific subject examinations offered by two national standardized testing programs: College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) and Dantes Subject Standardized Tests (DSST).

Minors
Matriculated undergraduate students at Metropolitan College may pursue a minor in Computer Science, Sociology, or Urban Affairs. Students may also be able to minor in Dance, Music, Performing Music, Theatre Arts, or Visual Arts through the College of Fine Arts.

Academic Review
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate degree students and nondegree students enrolled in Metropolitan College undergraduate courses are expected to maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0. The Academic Standing Committee reviews all students enrolled in undergraduate courses. Any student falling below a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 is subject to review and may be placed on probation, or be academically dismissed from the College. Students receive formal notification of the review and the level of performance required to allow them to continue at Metropolitan College. Academic reviews are conducted at the end of each semester, in January, June, and August.
Graduate Students
Graduate students matriculating in Metropolitan College degree programs are required to maintain high levels of achievement to remain in good standing in their programs. In order for a course to count toward degree requirements, a certain letter grade has to be earned. Acceptable grades for graduate courses vary by program. Please refer to the guidelines of your academic department or program office. A grade point average below 3.0 constitutes grounds for academic probation.
