Metropolitan College’s reputation for excellent online education hinges on a high-touch, interactive class experience. Ensuring a robust, interactive, and smooth class experience keeps our programs in compliance with federal course credit hour policies, maintains our reputation for excellent education, and benefits our students’ learning.

The division of responsibilities and expectations for online instructors versus facilitators can be found in the MET Online Instructor and Facilitator Responsibilities document.

Online Facilitator Allocations:

Classes must generally have 16 students enrolled before a facilitator is approved for the course section. Facilitators are then allocated according to the MET Online Facilitator Allocation Guidelines. Any deviation from these guidelines will need a request with a justification provided by the Chair or the Program Director and approval of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs or the Dean. These approvals should be obtained by email prior to entering additional facilitators in the app, and the email should be forwarded or copied to Corinne Griffiths at cgriff@bu.edu.

Indicating Online Facilitator Selections:

The appropriate faculty or administrator in each department can use the App to submit MET Facilitator requests:

Facilitators who are new to payroll, or those who have not been on payroll in 18 months, should be directed to apply through the Part-Time Faculty and Facilitator application form so that we can collect their information and make them selectable in the Facilitator Request App:
