Dropping a Course
To drop a course or courses, visit the MyBU Student Portal. If you are unable to drop your course on the MyBU Student Portal, you must submit the Add/Drop Form. Upon receipt of this form, the Office of the University Registrar will adjust your account according to the refund policy below. Please be aware that the add/drop deadlines as noted on MET’s academic calendar may differ from the refund dates listed below.
Summer 2023: Consult the Calendar on the BU Summer Term website for summer withdrawal dates.

|Spring 2023 Online Course Drop/Withdrawal Refund Policy Dates*|
|By January 17||100% of tuition and fees for 15-week Spring 1 courses|
|By January 17||100% of tuition and fees for standard 7-week Spring 1 courses|
|By March 13||100% of tuition and fees for standard 7-week Spring 2 courses|
*Applies to most MET students dropping any standard course or withdrawing from the semester. Those enrolled in online courses should visit the BU Online Learning site to download the “important dates PDF,” which indicates the last day for a tuition refund.
Withdrawing From All Courses
To withdraw from all of your courses, you must complete the Withdrawal/Leave of Absence Form (you can also download the form) and submit it to:

Financial Aid Recipients
The policies above are academic and related only to tuition refunds. Separate regulations govern federal student loans and may require BU to reduce or cancel a previously disbursed loan when your enrollment changes.
