Alexis Gavras Graduate Scholarship Fund
Boston University’s Metropolitan College (MET) is honored to present the Alexis Gavras Graduate Scholarship Fund, made possible by a generous gift from Haralambos Gavras, MD, and Irene Gavras, MD. Established in memory of their son, Alexis (CAS’93, MET’04), the Gavras Scholarship is available to eligible graduate students at Metropolitan College and BU’s School of Medicine (BUSM).
Scholarships will support up to two deserving graduate students who are enrolled in graduate degree programs in the Department of Computer Science at MET, or who are pursuing studies in biomedical research in the division of Graduate Medical Sciences at BUSM.
Eligibility Requirements
Up to two Alexis Gavras Graduate Scholarships will be awarded to eligible graduate students based on the following criteria:
- Applicants must have EITHER completed an undergraduate or graduate degree at the University of Patras in Greece OR completed their undergraduate degree in the field of computer science or general sciences at any accredited college or university.
- Applicants must be admitted to and enrolled in a graduate degree program focused on computer science* at Boston University’s Metropolitan College.
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the applicable academic year.
*Note: Applicants enrolled in a graduate program in biomedical research in the division of Graduate Medical Sciences at BUSM will also be considered.
