{"id":138,"date":"2020-02-04T17:14:46","date_gmt":"2020-02-04T22:14:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/mechanobiology\/?page_id=138"},"modified":"2021-06-28T12:54:44","modified_gmt":"2021-06-28T16:54:44","slug":"postdoctoral-fellowships","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/mechanobiology\/programs\/postdoctoral-fellowships\/","title":{"rendered":"Postdoctoral Research Fellowships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Center for Multiscale &amp; Translational Mechanobiology offers yearly full-time <strong>Postdoctoral Research Fellow<\/strong> positions open to individuals who have received a doctoral degree or equivalent.\u00a0 Candidates are expected to have a proven publication record and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.<\/p>\n<p>The CMTM postdoctoral fellows work on a collaborative project involving at least two faculty members of the Center, preferably across departments, colleges, and\/or campuses.\u00a0 Our faculty and other researchers study mechanobiology and its potential for clinical translation in such areas as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regenerative medicine<\/li>\n<li>Biomaterials<\/li>\n<li>Connective tissue diseases<\/li>\n<li>Precision medicine<\/li>\n<li>Musculoskeletal pain<\/li>\n<li>Cancer<\/li>\n<li>Global health<\/li>\n<li>Drug delivery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The CMTM has unique strengths in modeling and biotechnology, giving fellows the opportunity to further their expertise in mechanobiology across length scales spanning single molecules to whole organisms.\u00a0 Fellows are mentored in developing their own research programs and funding applications.\u00a0 The term of the CMTM fellowship is one year; renewal for second year is possible upon review of the fellow\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n<p>Before applying, candidates must <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/mechanobiology\/research\/faculty-research-labs\/\">review our affiliated labs<\/a> and identify and reach out to one (or more) of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/mechanobiology\/about-us\/faculty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Center faculty<\/a> with whom they are interested as having as an advisor for their fellowship.\u00a0 Candidates will not be considered without nomination from one of our faculty.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our AY 2021-2022 CMTM Postdoctoral Fellowship has been awarded to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/mechanobiology\/profile\/marina-uroz-marimon\/\">Dr. Marina Uroz<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 Dr. Uroz comes to us from the <a href=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/\">Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia<\/a> (IBEC) in Spain, and will be leading a collaborative research project with CMTM PIs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/mechanobiology\/profile\/chris-chen\/\">Chris Chen<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/mechanobiology\/profile\/hadi-nia\/\">Hadi T.
