We’re here to make your life easier. Whether you’re an alumni relations expert or a rocket scientist, getting your message out there can be complex and time consuming. With over 35,000 students and faculty, it can be hard enough just spreading the word at BU.

And for most, it’s not what you came here to do. That’s where we come in. We’re a central administrative office that helps the University communicate with one voice—both internally and with the outside world. We manage Bostonia, the BU brand, and many other communications resources that celebrate the University’s outstanding work and academic reputation. And we offer marketing services for the whole BU community at a fraction of the cost of an outside agency.

What We Do

If it’s related to marketing or communications—whether you need a small brochure or a brand-new marketing strategy—we can probably help. Our in-house, award-winning team of professionals includes copywriters and journalists, editors and proofreaders, interactive and print designers, marketing strategy specialists, photographers and videographers, and public relations professionals.

When you start your project with us, we’ll work with you to tailor the messages and materials that will be most effective for you. Everything we produce, no matter how small, is underpinned by original ideas and solid marketing theory to best celebrate you and BU. And you can ask us to do as little or as much as you’d like. If you want a full campaign—strategic planning, media blitz, new website—we have all the expertise under one roof to run it from start to finish; if you just want a good-looking, hard-working poster and someone to keep an eye out for typos, we’d be happy to help.

What Makes Us Different?

We’re BU, too. We have Terrier cards, we work out at FitRec, and we battle the BU Bridge at rush hour. You’re our colleagues, not our clients, so we get what you’re all about. It also means we can see how your project fits into the bigger picture at BU, so you don’t have to worry about crossing wires with another department or sending your campaign message at the same time as someone else. We also know who you’re trying to reach. We’ve spent time getting to know your audience through focus groups, at University events, and from just being on campus, allowing us to guide you in choosing the messages that will excite and engage them.

And most of us have worked for the hotshot agencies in town, which means we can let you in on a professional secret—we’re not just cheaper, we’re better.
