Boston University is constantly evolving, informed by a present day influenced and shaped by thousands of unique perspectives from students and faculty. A sense of identity and inclusion is more important than ever at this time to ensure our students thrive in an increasingly diverse and interconnected world. We strive to create an environment for learning and respect for individual differences in background, sexual orientation, and religious beliefs.<\/p>\n

At BU Madrid, we aim to create a safe and welcoming space for students, where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and engaging in open dialogue.<\/p>\n

Madrid\u2019s LGBTQIA+ community has had a long history in Spain. Being the capital, Madrid definitely is very open and welcoming, having its own queer friendly neighborhood, Chueca<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

COGAM<\/strong><\/a><\/span>:<\/strong>\u00a0 LGBT association in Madrid since 1986. There are weekly meetings for all gropus of different identities and groups geared towards those 20-30 years old.<\/p>\n

FELGTBI<\/strong><\/a><\/span>: State Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Trans, Bisexuals, Intersexuals+<\/p>\n

Madrid LGTBIA+<\/strong><\/a><\/span>:<\/strong> events around Madrid<\/p>\n

Madrid Pride<\/strong><\/a>:<\/a><\/span> events begin in June<\/p>\n

El Hombre Trans<\/strong><\/span><\/a>:<\/strong> association for trans men. They hold meetings, events and roundtable discussions throughout the year (Metro: Ventas)<\/p>\n

LGBT at UC3M<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

BIPOC<\/u>:<\/h5>\n

SOS Racismo:<\/strong><\/a><\/span> Anti Racist non-profit organization that fights against racism and xenophobia. They hold meetings, discussions and public events throughout the year and also offer resources and help on how to report racist and\/or hate crimes.<\/p>\n

Conciencia-Afro<\/strong><\/a><\/span>: <\/strong>an artistic and culture hub focusing on the African diaspora.<\/p>\n

Afrof\u00e9minas<\/strong><\/a><\/span>: <\/strong>a afro-feminist organization in Madrid that publishes several articles through an antiracist perspective. Great for staying in the loop about news and events.<\/p>\n

Asociaci\u00f3n de Estudiantes Latinoamericanxs Abya Yala<\/strong><\/a>:<\/a><\/span> Latinx antiracist student association at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.<\/p>\n

Melanin Madrid<\/strong><\/a><\/span>:<\/strong> a U.S. immigrant facebook group that offers various resources in Madrid. It is a community of POC which helps members relocate to Spain through community, consulting and digital resources.<\/p>\n

La Mala Mujer<\/strong><\/a><\/span>: a welcoming group for local feminists that meets every Wednesday and holds language exchanges every Thursday.<\/p>\n
