After the fall of the empire and the end of Visigothic rule, it was under Islamic rule \u00a0for 800 years, but in 1487, the Crown of Castille gained control after the Reconquista.\u00a0The archaeological remains and monuments from the Phoenician, Roman, Arabic and Christian eras make the historic center of the city an \u201copen museum.\u00a8<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The painter and sculptor\u00a0Pablo Picasso, Hebrew poet and Jewish philosopher\u00a0Solomon Ibn Gabirol\u00a0and the actor\u00a0Antonio Banderas\u00a0were born in M\u00e1laga.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Please note<\/strong><span> the students are made aware that by signing their name on the trip sign-up sheets, they are committing themselves to participate in an activity organized by the Boston University Madrid program that generates expenses.
