Prof. Lindsey’s research centers on the documentation and description of under-researched languages, with a focus on the Pahoturi River language family of Papua New Guinea. She works closely with speaker communities to build foundational resources, like grammars, dictionaries, and text collections, that support both linguistic analysis and language maintenance. She is also a phonologist, and she draws on large natural spoken corpora to investigate phonetic and phonological variation. Her current projects include a reference grammar and dictionary of Ende, a new documentary dictionary series at Language Science Press, and corpus-based research on stress and phonological variation in Ende and Chuvash.<\/p>\n
