For all other types of submissions, please feel free to use our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/library\/digital-ventures\/openbu-submission-form\/\">OpenBU Self-Deposit form<\/a>, or contact us at\u202f<a href=\"mailto:open-help@bu.edu\">open-help@bu.edu<\/a>, and we can help you get started.<\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"OABU\"><\/a>How the BU Open Access Policy works with OpenBU<\/h3>\n<p>Under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/open-access-policy\/\">BU Open Access Policy<\/a>, faculty members grant Boston University a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/library\/digital-ventures\/about-openbu\/\">non-exclusive license<\/a> to the accepted manuscripts of their scholarly articles to make them openly available in <a href=\"https:\/\/open.bu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OpenBU<\/a> BU&#8217;s institutional repository.<\/p>\n<p>The policy applies to scholarly articles (<strong>not<\/strong> books, book chapters, creative works, or popular articles) that were authored after the policy was adopted on February 11, 2015.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/open-access-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read the full text of the policy.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Submit an Article to OpenBU in My CV<\/h3>\n<p>Faculty can submit articles through <a href=\"https:\/\/mycv.bu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">My CV<\/span><\/span><\/a>, a software system that assists faculty in collecting and maintaining their scholarly and professional contributions and facilitates the Faculty Annual Review (FAR). In addition, <a href=\"https:\/\/mycv.bu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">My CV<\/a> helps faculty make their works openly available by identifying publications that fall under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/open-access-policy\/\">BU Open Access Policy<\/a> and providing an easy way to submit articles directly to <a href=\"https:\/\/open.bu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OpenBU<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/mycv.bu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">My CV<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BU Medical Campus faculty<\/strong>: Please <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/library\/open-access-policy-article-submission-form-med-only\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">submit your accepted manuscripts here<\/a><\/strong>. You are also welcome to <a href=\"mailto:open-help@bu.edu\">email us<\/a> the article, providing all the information requested on our submission web form.<\/p>\n<h3>Opting Out<\/h3>\n<p>To opt out of granting BU a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/library\/help-research-support\/scholarly-publishing\/about-openbu\/openbu-materials-management-license\/\">non-exclusive license<\/a>, you can request a waiver&#8211;either through <a href=\"https:\/\/mycv.bu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">My CV<\/a> or, for BU Medical Campus faculty, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/library\/open-access-policy-article-submission-form-med-only\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">our online submission form<\/a>. The waiver is granted automatically.<\/p>\n<h2>How do I explore what is in OpenBU?<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/open.bu.edu\">OpenBU<\/a> has thousands of works created at Boston University. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/open.bu.edu\/discover?query=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">search the entire repository<\/a>\u00a0for articles, chapters, theses and dissertations, presentations, datasets, media, and more.
