Although authors are occasionally required to provide an Article Processing Charge (APC) to make the final formatted article open access, some publishers waive these costs for BU authors where the library\u2019s subscription to the publication permits it through open access agreements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BU Libraries currently hold an agreement with the Association for Computing Machinery, Cambridge University Press, and Royal Society of Chemistry<\/strong> to cover the cost of APCs for University-affiliated authors. <em><strong>These agreements<\/strong><\/em> also provide University-affiliated scholars access to subscription journal content.<\/p>\n<p>Note: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/open-access-policy\/\">BU\u2019s Open Access policy<\/a> allows BU authors to make all final manuscripts of their scholarly articles available open access through the library digital repository at no cost.
