Study spaces are available for reservation at Mugar Memorial Library, Pardee Management Library, Pickering Educational Resources Library, and the Science &amp; Engineering Library (SEL).<\/p>\n<p>Doctoral candidates who are in the process of writing their dissertations may <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/library\/about\/study-spaces\/study-carrels\/\">request a study carrel<\/a> for the duration of the academic year.<\/p>\n<h2>Open Study Spaces<\/h2>\n<p>BU Libraries open study spaces offer three zones of noise levels to accommodate different needs:<\/p>\n<h3><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-110098\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/library\/files\/2024\/03\/Collaborative_icon-e1710517080898.png\" height=\"22\" width=\"36\" \/> Collaborative<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This zone is intended for group study. Talking is expected, but groups and individuals should be respectful of other patrons.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-110097\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/library\/files\/2024\/03\/Considerate_icon-e1710517123100.png\" height=\"26\" width=\"28\" \/> Considerate<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This zone offers a &#8216;coffee-shop&#8217; level of volume. Quiet talking is acceptable, but patrons should be mindful of those around them.<\/p>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-110096\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/library\/files\/2024\/03\/Silent_icon-e1710517184860.png\" height=\"29\" width=\"33\" \/> Silent<\/h3>\n<p>This zone offers quiet study spaces. The expectation is total, uninterrupted silence.<\/p>\n<h2>Mugar Memorial Library<\/h2>\n<p><bulib-card title=\"Reserve a Study Room\" icon=\"event_available\" link=\"https:\/\/libcal.bu.edu\/reserve\/mugar\" description=\"Reservable study spaces with capacities of 1-3 are available on Floors 4, 5, and 6\"><\/bulib-card><\/p>\n<p>As BU\u2019s main humanities and social sciences library, Mugar Memorial Library provides resources for study, teaching, and research.
