January 20 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) Library Hours

Many of the BU libraries will be open on Monday, January 20, 2020. For information regarding a particular library schedule, please consult the Hours Page or contact the library directly.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Reading Room located on the 3rd floor of Mugar Library will be open from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm.

The holiday is celebrated on the third Monday of January to commemorate the birthday of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Although it is a federal holiday, many choose to celebrate it as a day of community service to honor Martin Luther King, Jr.’s vision of a “Beloved Community.” For more information regarding the King Day of Service, please visit the MLK Day of Service page.
