Today's Activity: Newton's First Law of Motion, Surface Tension and Law of Inertia

Description: Today was a very fun day. We explored Newton's Law and the Law of Inertia.

We performed a couple of "magic tricks" today! This was aimed to get the girls ready for the magic show that they are going to put on at the end of the semester. In the first trick, the girls were able to fill up a cup of water, and turn it upside down without any of the water spilling out!

The second trick involved the concept of surface tension. We had the girls pull a tablecloth out from under heavy objects on a table. They were very excited about this experiment.

We ended the day with another quick game so that the girls could get to know their mentors a little better.
