In addition to providing comprehensive career advising, her expertise includes advising foreign-trained lawyers on U.S. bar exam qualification and providing guidance for LLM students interested in transferring into the JD program.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With more than a decade of experience as both a practicing attorney and law school administrator, Claire has mentored hundreds of law students and early-career attorneys. Before joining BU Law, she managed professional development and cooperative legal education for law students at Northeastern University School of Law, advising international and LLM students on careers across all legal sectors and guiding JD students pursuing judicial clerkships.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier in her career, Claire practiced law with experience in both litigation and transactional matters, representing clients in civil rights, employment law, and personal injury cases, while also handling complex transactional work in employment-based immigration law. As a managing attorney at a business immigration firm, she represented foreign students, lawyers, athletes, artists, physicians, and other highly skilled professionals in employment-based visa and immigration matters, while advising corporate clients on immigration compliance and sponsorship.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Claire currently serves as Co-Chair of the International and Advanced Degree Advising and Recruiting Section of NALP (the National Association for Law Placement) and has presented nationally on best practices for advising, recruiting, and retaining legal talent. She earned her BA in Political Science from the University of Washington and her JD from the University of Akron School of Law. Claire is admitted to the Washington Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
