Bluver<\/strong><\/span><span>\u00a0joins Boston University School of Law\u2019s faculty as a part-time Lecturer in the Compassionate Release Practicum. Mr. Bluver\u00a0is currently a solo practitioner in the Law Office of Mark H. Bluver. He\u00a0began his professional career as an associate at Cahill Gordon and Reindel, a national law firm based on Wall Street. While at Cahill,\u00a0he had the pleasure of representing\u00a0the Muppets against Walt Disney; the Wall Street Journal called it \u201cFrog v. Mouse.\u201d\u00a0 He left New York in 1992 and was the Supervising Attorney in the Attorney General\u2019s Office in Springfield, Massachusetts.\u00a0 After more than two\u00a0years in the public sector,\u00a0he joined a private law firm in Springfield and was Senior Trial Counsel. In 2009, he left private practice and began representing\u00a0poor people in criminal cases. His practice involved murder cases, sexual offenses, and serious felonies. When COVID-19 shut down the courts, Mr. Bluver\u00a0began representing\u00a0prisoners who were in significant danger because of the pandemic. Since 2020, he has been one of a handful of lawyers attempting\u00a0to get prisoners who are either terminally ill or permanently incapacitated released on medical parole. Mark is also the Supervising Attorney in Franklin County for lawyers appointed in criminal matters.
